Admin’s Notes: I had to look up how Earth day began. I can’t imagine millions of people rallying in the U.S. for the planet. I’m tempted to chalk it up to the 1970s, but something tells me that movements have their crests and valleys. Another part of me tells me that I can’t lump the Earth with any other movement. She’s always there. In every breath, every sunrise, every bird chirp, every bloom, etc. Undoubtedly there’s an argument to be made for the impact of the loss of connection with nature since the 1970s in terms of how a rally for the planet would manifest today. For me, this day represents hope that consciousness can be raised and there can be action-driven change.
