Harvesting Harm: Resource Insecurity and Immigrant Farmworker Health
The people who sustain the nation’s food supply are susceptible to chronic disease and when they do get sick, they cannot access the care they need. Farmworkers endure long hours, are paid very little, face environmental hazards, and have limited access to basic resources. These disparities stem from systemic racism and policy inequities in both public health and healthcare, which exclude farmworkers from key labor protections and social benefits.
