It is a surprise for many to learn that 70-percent of American Indians and Alaska Natives live off reservation in urban settings. What do urban native communities hold as priorities and how can they engage with city leaders to elevate nature as a solution to improving community health and well-being? In this webinar, we will hear from Tribal program leaders and learn about several model initiatives focused on cultural priorities, engaging youth and elders in multi-generational learning, and activism centered on the spiritual connections of the land and trees where people live, learn, work, and recreate. Please join us for inspiration!

Speakers:

  • Cristina Eisenberg, Associate Dean for Inclusive Excellence, Oregon State University
  • Don Motanic, Board President, Wisdom of the Elders
  • Moderator: Scott Altenhoff, Oregon Department of Forestry
