Mission
The Arts play a unique role in communal life as they bridge the individual to the group, establish a shared identity, nurture dreams of a better future, and honor the past. We hope to create moments for creativity to flourish, including sponsorship of film, festivals, urban murals, arts education, exhibits, and support for inclusive programs for artists to have a place to pursue their vision. The Arts enhance the experience of living within community.
Kady Hoffman
Kady Hoffman is a painter and teaching artist in Los Angeles, CA. Her educational background is both in the Fine Arts (The Otis Art Institute and The Royal College of Design) and in Early Childhood Development and Education (UCLA).
Kady’s community work encompasses a wide span of ages. She facilitates the expansion of the individual’s understanding of and personal connection with the arts. In her education work, she founded a school-based arts program for young children in Santa Monica, was part of the educational children’s staff at the Los Angeles County Art Museum, and was invited by The Getty Foundation to initiate their inaugural children’s classes at The Villa.
As a painter, Kady has exhibited in the United States and abroad. She and her work have been featured in books as well as reviewed in periodicals. Early on, she worked as a fabricator for Pritzker Award winning architect Frank Gehry, was part of The Eric Franck Gallery, Geneva Switzerland, and was presented at The Basel Art Fair. Her work is in many private collections as well as in institutional collections including The New York Public Library and The Hammer Museum. In design, she has previously collaborated with architect David Ming Li Lowe. She has an active studio practice in Sawtelle, West Los Angeles.
Santiago Romero is an artist and passionate advocate for Native American culture. From the desecration of sacred shrines by outsiders to the challenges faced by urban Indians, Santiago offers a unique perspective into the struggles and triumphs of preserving cultural traditions in the face of assimilation. As a graduate in Environmental Science from Darthmouth College, his work intertwines art, science, and traditional symbolism as inspired by the cycles of nature. He is an ambassador for the power of Indigenous knowledge and the importance of embracing diverse cultural perspectives.
